MY FINAL SCHOOL YEAR IN KHUZULWANDLE, MPUMALANGA

MY PERSONAL JOURNEY

Khuzulwandle Secondary School is situated at Nhlazatshe. I can classify Nnhlazatshe as a more township like area, because it is developing rapidly compared to it nearest areas and it  has many things that you find in the suburb areas. My primary school is situated in Aramburg where I live. but I didn't went to high school in the same area. I decided to start my secondary schooling just outside where I live, which was in Tjakastad as a result of the crowding of the close by schools.  I couldn't get a space in the schools nearby.

Aramburg was not a popular area around Nhlazetshe, because when i was at primary  level specifically when I was doing Grade 2 the majority of the people around that area were not fascinated about the area itself. Until 2005 things became more better because most of the people who wanted to stay in Aramberg were those who needed plenty of space for their luxurious houses. From 2009 Aramburg became the most popular wanted place, as people were now longing to build their houses there, as a result of the huge development that has taken place. As now there are developments such as the Hospital, Clinic, Internet Cafe, Library and Schools. Now everyone wishes to be part of the Aramburg society.

When I was in high school I was more into commercials studies, as it was all about dealing with numerical capital values which I can say it is more quite interesting and practical. We didn't have to Google anything because what they told us was what we were suppose to know. The only learners who had access to computers were those who were doing science subjects because they had to do researches in order to acquire the more specific accurate information their assignments required. Below are the subjects I chose to do from Grade 10 to Grade 12:

  • Mathematical literacy
  • Accounting
  • Business studies
  • Economics
  • siSwati
  • English
  • Life orientation

When I was in Grade 11 I was afraid to advance to grade 12, reason being the majority of our fellow learners use to say "Matric is the most difficult class to pass", but my principal Mr Msibi used to say "don't let people around you put negative ideas or thoughts in your mind because the most difficult class to pass at school is grade R". When you start schooling, you start as a blank slate educationally so, to know anything you have to firstly learn the basics like: how to write, pronouns words, numbers and even uttering them too , but in grade 12 you have every information you may need to make it the only thing left for you is to ensure that you give your best in everything you do. I passed and completed my Matric class in 2013 in the very same school where I started my secondary grades.

We didn't real have any advanced technology to utilize in our premises, as our school wasn't that technological wise, exposed and it wasn't much of the technological atmosphere.

chrome extension for grade R numbers

Chrome extension for grader's numbers

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/writing-numbers-lite/ngjnnhglbehfciediimclocnhiokogdb?utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-et-na-us-oc-webstrext&utm_medium=et

I choose this chrome extension because it easy for the teacher to access, it also got understandable instructions on how it should be played.the game teaches learners how to count numbers. it start counting from 1-10 which is easy for the grade R to count and is what the grade R are still learning.this chrome extensions does not only teach the learners how to count but it also teach them how to write the numbers , it gives them a chance to express their writing and it shows them the number after writing it and  it easy for grade R's to write because it got big and bold numbers to write in .it also help the learners to recognize numbers from 1-10  because when you write something down it easy for you to remember it back than when you just look at it.the grade  R  are expected to know how to count and how to write numbers.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I am  Zinhle Nkosi I am a student at University of Mpumalanga in Siyabuswa, enrolling for B Ed in foundation phase .This is my first year in varsity.I believe a philosophy of teaching is a narrative that include your conception of teaching and learning ,a description of how you teach and a justification for why you teach that way. I am looking forward to be a great teacher in the coming three years.I am a person who is caring, accountable and committed in her work.

My goal as a teacher is to see my learners being one of the learners who contribute to high percentage rate in education around South Africa.I want to teach them to love each other and not to practice bullying because of their difference in race and gender.I want to set a good example to my learners because I know that learners learn best through imitation and if I show them respect it will be easy for the to learn how to respect  As a teacher is my duty to encourage them to strive for improvement not perfection , it is also my duty to teach them what is wrong and what is right and help them learn from their mistakes.

I see the process of learning and teaching is a active practice ,its takes more than one person to practice ,the teacher and the learner working together for achievement..I see the process as giving and taking because when you are a teacher learners are not the only ones who are learning but you are learning something from them too.

The role of a learners  is to engage actively in learning, learners should participate in the classroom when the teacher is teaching, learners  should ask questions and get clarification where they do not understand.learners should contribute to teaching and learning .learners should write assessment when given any and attend classes daily.

As a teacher I want to my learners to see me as their role model, I will motivate them to be good citizen. As they start at school I want them to see me as a teacher and as a parent to them.As a teacher I must create a literacy-rich enviroment .As I have been in school before I know that learners do not come from the same background and it is my responsibily as a teacher to make sure that all my learners are in the same standard by asking for donations in the surrounding community .I want to be a teacher who is honest, reliable and dignified. As a teacher I want to bring out change in my surrounding community.I will not punish my learners for not participating at the same level as others but I will show faith in them and offer my help in overcoming obstacles. As a teacher I must understand the social issues we are facing in South Africa and design learning programmes and materials that will accommodate every learner in my class.
